Special Event Volunteers

Our Special Event Volunteer program is a team of people who would like to be notified of one-time or short term volunteer opportunities in the community.

If you volunteer for this role, you will receive occasional emails with the details of an upcoming special event volunteering opportunity in the community. You can reply to the email and sign up to volunteer at the event, or ignore the email and wait for another opportunity that suits you better. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity. You only reply to the events that suit your interest and schedule.

Volunteer Campbell River is providing a referral of interested volunteers to the organization that is hosting the event. We will try to include pertinent information in the original email so that you have a good idea of what the role is before you sign up. Once you reply that you are interested, our staff sends your contact information to the event organizer who is responsible to follow up with you.

This is a great way to get to know your community while providing flexibility in your volunteering!

If you would like to be added to that list, please contact us today.

The Good Food Box Program is a food security project that aims to make healthy, fresh food both financially and physically accessible. Produce is bulk purchased and sent to a packing and distribution center where volunteers will help to put together the boxes of food.

Volunteering for this program allows the price of the boxes to remain low--this is an important factor in making these boxes financially accessible to everyone.

Join a team of produce box-packing volunteers to distribute the bulk produce amongst the boxes that people have pre-ordered.

Volunteering for this program allows the price of the boxes to remain low--this is an important factor in making these boxes financially accessible to everyone.

Greenways Land Trust is looking for a volunteer coordinator for this program.

The Coordinator is responsible for liaising with Campbell River community members, collecting and managing orders/payments, and coordinating volunteers in the packing of boxes, as well as program participant box pick-up. This position is much more time-intensive than the other program volunteer positions and therefore comes with an honorarium per round of orders.
