Who should come?
Volunteer managers, coordinators and anyone training, supporting or supervising volunteers will find this conference useful.
About the conference:
To celebrate International Volunteer Managers’ Day, we have designed a conference that will explore some of the critical elements of volunteer management. From recruiting and retaining volunteers, to handling those more difficult times when volunteers need supervision, support, discipline or even dismissal, we have it covered.
During this conference you will learn:
- How Volunteer CR supports its members to recruit volunteers
- How to use Mission Focused Strategies to retain volunteers
- How to develop useful policies and practices to prevent difficult situations with volunteers
- How to effectively supervise, discipline and even dismiss a volunteer when necessary
- A brief overview of the trends in volunteerism in Campbell River and across Canada
About the facilitators:
Stacy Ashton, Provincial Program Coordinator, Volunteer Resources with the Alzheimer Society of B.C. will present an engaging workshop on Retaining Volunteers: The Mission Focused Way to keep Volunteers Longer.
Christine Kleinsteuber, Volunteer Campbell River’s Community Engagement Coordinator, will present information about how Volunteer CR promotes your agency’s volunteer needs and how you can help us to find the best qualified volunteers for your organization.
Mary Catherine Williams, Volunteer Campbell River’s Executive Director, will present an overview of Volunteer Trends and explore the use of respectful and effective policies and practices to prevent difficult situations including discipline and dismissal.
