Canada Survey of Giving, Volunteering and Participating

 Just Released! Volunteer Canada, in conjunction with Imagine Canada, has announced the release of the Results from the 2007 Canada Survey of Giving, Volunteering and Participating.  Results are available on Volunteer Canada's website at www.volunteer.ca.

 Criminal record checks and box 4 letters

 Please note that due to staff changes at the CR RCMP office the return time of criminal record checks has increased and may take up to 4 weeks to come back to us.  Also, box 4 letters can still be done but they will now take 3-4 weeks.  We appreciate your patience with this.

 Win Tickets to the 2010 Winter Olympics!

 Enter to win tickets at www.volweb.ca.  Organization representatives and event planners who post volunteer positions have a chance to win two (2) tickets to the Short Track Speed Skating Variety Qualification and Final at the 2010 Winter Games.

Volunteers who register on VolWeb.ca can enter to win two (2) tickets to the Men's Freestyle Skiing Aerials Final.

 Teen Volunteer Opportunities

 Please let us know if you have opportunities for teens to volunteer with your organization.  They are looking for potential work experience, to be involved in something that would be fun, rewarding and/or just to fill some free time. 

 Equipment Rental

 Volunteer Campbell River has event tents, a display unit, speaker system, projector screen and projector available for rent to our members.  If you are interested please give us a call, send us an email or check out the information on our website under members.  These items are booked on a first come first serve basis.

  SHAW Channel 10 & the Wheel

 For those of you that post announcements of community events and volunteer positions, a heads up that SHAW will be doing some changes to local programming with a tentative start date of August 11^th, 2009. The channel line up may change, we will have a community channel that will continue to provide local community programming as well as announcements but the message board will change from a full page to possibly a scroll banner on the bottom and/or side of the screen.  More information will be available the end of July.
