2010 BC SENIORS GAMES Comox Valley and Campbell River

The Comox Valley & Campbell River 2010 BC Seniors Games Society is a non-profit group formed to develop, organize and present the annual provincial Seniors Games in the Comox Valley and Campbell River, September 15 - 18, 2010. The Society is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of 16 volunteer members. Our goal is to demonstrate the Spirit of the Island to the 3000+ senior competitors, their families and other visitors.   http://www.2010bcseniorsgames.ca

ADULT CARE SOCIETY

The Society offers a variety of therapeutic health, social and recreational programs designed to assist individuals and families with long term related problems.

AIDS VANCOUVER ISLAND

We strive to improve the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C, and to prevent more individuals from becoming infected. We provide education, support and counseling, a harm reduction program which includes a needle exchange, STI testing and vaccinations.

ALANO CLUB

Dedicated to providing a safe place for those seeking sobriety to socialize and hold meetings.

ALTRUSA CLUB

The mission statement of this service club is Friendship, solidarity, service, growth, and understanding.

ASSOCIATION FOR COMMUNITY LIVING

The Campbell River and District Association for Community Living is a non profit organization whose purpose is to advocate for services and/or provide services for people with special needs and their families who live in the Campbell River area. http://www.cradacl.bc.ca

B.C. SCHIZOPHRENIA SOCIETY

The Society is dedicated to providing support and education to families and their ill relatives suffering from schizophrenia and other serious mental illness by:

1. Sponsor the Partnership Puppet Program and the Nutritional Learning Program for consumers.

2. Facilitating Strengthening Families Together and Family to Family, 2 free education programs for family and friends, to learn about mental illness, new medications and treatments, and discover how to cope and survive.

3. Participating in community events, to increase public awareness and understanding of mental illness.

4. Advocating on behalf of families and people with serious mental illness for improved services, particularly in the areas of decriminalization, medication, and family caregivers.

CAMERYN'S CAUSE FOR KIDS

The purpose of the society is to establish and maintain a non-profit fund in the Campbell River Region that will provide emergency financial assistance to income-challenged guardians/parents of children facing life threatening illness, injury, or in the event of death. CAMPBELL RIVER & DISTRICT PUBLIC ART GALLERY

Youth adults 12 - 19 are taught wilderness survival techniques, have a marching band, learn first aid and learn to fly.
